Nikolas Vacano obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science with a minor equivalent in Religious Studies from the University of Colorado, Boulder. He is currently a Master's Candidate in International Security at the University of Denver's Josef Korbel School of Global and Public Affairs. His area of academic focus is the geoeconomics and grand strategies of revisionist states, with a specific focus on the People's Republic of China, the MENA area and East Africa. He has previous experience in working with AI systems as a proofreader and has taken part in a variety of Open Source Intelligence (OSINT)-gathering efforts. In his free time, Nikolas spends a substantial amount of time collecting tobacco pipes, studying Buddhist philosophy, reading John le Carré novels (and really anything Cold War-related) and hiking.
