Author
Madalyn Shircliff is a graduate student in International Security at the University of Denver's Josef Korbel School of Global and Public Affairs, where her research focuses on East Asia. Her current work examines the intersections of gender and militarism in South Korea, research she has pursued both academically and through field research in Seoul. She also serves as a dialogue facilitator with the Korbel School's Conflict Engagement and Resolution Initiative. Madalyn has built a diverse professional background in education, community organizing, and journalism. These experiences shaped her understanding of power, systemic change, and the importance of bridging research with lived experience. She aims to contribute to the field of peace studies as both a scholar and an educator, grounded in a commitment to justice, care, and solidarity.
